Fall Corgi Beach Day brings its Howl-o-ween party back to Huntington City Beach on Saturday
The free So Cal Corgi Nation gathering runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. two blocks south of the pier, with contests all day, more than 45 vendors, at least 10 food trucks and a corgi rescue zone, organizers say.

Corgi Beach Day returns to Huntington City Beach on Saturday, Oct. 24, when So Cal Corgi Nation stages the fall edition of its beach festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the sand two blocks south of the Huntington Beach Pier. Admission is free, and organizers say every dog and every person is welcome, with no corgi, and no dog at all, required to attend.
Visit Huntington Beach, the city's visitor bureau, lists the gathering at Huntington City Beach, across Pacific Coast Highway from Pacific City and the beachfront resorts, and calls it the largest bash of its kind.

The main arena hosts contests through the day: a corgi costume contest, loudest barking, corgi limbo, Fetch Fanatic, Best Corgi Butt and a corgi eating contest, according to the organizers. Some contests need registration in advance, while the costume contest lineup forms about 15 minutes before it starts, the organizers say. The fall edition always runs on a Howl-o-ween theme, and organizers urge owners to dress up their dogs, and themselves, for it.
Around the arena, the day includes a marketplace of more than 45 pet-focused vendors, at least 10 food trucks, selfie stations and photo spots, a corgi kissing booth, giveaways, and a rescue and education zone featuring Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue and Shade Out DM, according to the event listing.
The festival began in the fall of 2012 with just 15 dogs, according to Visit Huntington Beach, which says it now welcomes more than 1,200 corgis and brings together over 15,000 pet lovers from across Southern California and beyond. Organizers also set aside a tribute to Mr. Pickles, the corgi they credit with starting it all, who died in 2022.

Merchandise sales at the event help benefit Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, which has helped corgi rescues with special needs since 2013, according to the organizers, who suggest stopping by its booth to learn about fostering and volunteering.
City Beach parking entrances sit at Pacific Coast Highway and Huntington Avenue and at Pacific Coast Highway and Beach Boulevard, and the lot holds more than 3,000 spaces. Organizers advise arriving before the 10 a.m. start to beat the crowds, and Visit Huntington Beach lists added options at Pacific City, the beachfront resorts, metered parking along Pacific Coast Highway and the Main Street parking structures, with rideshare encouraged.
